Two more players set to make Orlando Pirates debuts today


As many as four players are in line to make their official Orlando Pirates debuts today at the National Stadium in Gaborone

Orlando Pirates return to CAF Champions League action this afternoon when they face Jwaneng Galaxy.

Jose Riveiro’s side travel to the National Stadium in Gaborone to face Galaxy in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second round preliminary qualifier.

Orlando Pirates got the better of Djabal FC in the previous round thanks to a 4-0 on aggregate victory. Jwaneng Galaxy on the other hand defeated Uganda’s Vipers FC 3-2 on aggregate.

Lesedi Kapinga will make his debut for Orlando Pirates this afternoon. Furthermore Siphelo Baloni and Karim Kimvuidi are also in line to make their debuts off the bench!

In the unlikely event of replacing goalkeeper Richard Ofori, Melusi Buthelezi could also make his debut this afternoon.

Debuts galore on the cards for Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates XI: Ofori, Maela, Monyane, Xoki, Mthethwa, Timm, Ndlondlo, Kapinga, Hotto, Dlamini, Marou.

Subs: Buthelezi, Eva Nga, Baloni, Shandu, Kimvuidi, Ndah, Makaringe.

Today’s match gets underway at 15:00 SAST. As things stand, today’s match will not be broadcasted by neither SuperSport nor the SABC.

The Buccaneers are also yet to confirm whether they’ll be providing a live stream link for today’s clash.

Much like Mamelodi Sundowns’ CAF Champions League match on Friday, it now looks increasingly likely that Pirates fans WON’T get to watch their team in action.

In other news, former Orlando Pirates attacker Bernard Morrison has completed a move to Botola Pro Champions AS FAR Rabat.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian star signed a one year contract at the Moroccan giants, with an option to extend by one more season.

Morrison spent two seasons at the Buccaneers better 2016 and 2018 where he made 23 appearances for the club, scoring four goals.
