Following the news that the Springboks will play in their third kit against Ireland, we take a look at what they’ll wear in every one of their Pool B Tests at the World Cup.

One of the more unexpected talking points at the start of the World Cup has been the divided opinions over the Springboks’ alternate kit, which has been described as hyper jade – among other more colourful language.

However, many social media users have also risen to the occasion and seen the funny side of the jersey design that has drawn many comparisons to Checkers Sixty60 and even Listerine mouth wash.

Seemingly in response to all the online discourse, SA Rugby have explained that “the Springboks are not permitted to wear the green and gold jersey in every Test match – as much as we would like to.”

Game 3: Springboks vs Ireland

The South African side is not permitted to wear the green and gold jersey in their crucial “Clash of the Titans” against Ireland at the Stade the France this coming Saturday. Instead, the Springboks wear their third-choice kit, which is predominantly white jersey with a dash of turquoise on the chest area, sleeves and around the neck; while the shorts are turquoise.
