Chiefs made light work of their visitors, running away with a 2-0 win victory, that made Sekhukhune look like they were the ones that were returning from a two hiatus.

Ngcobo impressed in rare start

Youngster Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who has seen very little game time under Stuart Baxter this season, ran the show for Chiefs. The South African junior international scored the first goal of the proceedings, having gone narrowly wide just moments before. He would then turn provider to fellow midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange who then sealed the three points for Amakhosi late on.

Due to how limited game time has come for Ngcobo at Chiefs this season, it might be safe to say that the Covid-19 outbreak at the club might have played a huge role in seeing him back in the starting line up. However, with up to EIGHT! Players looking likely to return to boost the Glamour Boys in their crunch, revenge match against Royal AM, it remains to be seen if Ngcobo will retain his place in the line-up, despite his man of the match performance.

Will Baxter give him a chance to build momentum?

Furthermore, among those that is thought to be set to return is coach Baxter, who has preferred other players and a different system that doesn’t necessarily suit Ngcobo. Judging from the training pictures and visuals released by Chiefs’ social media platforms, the team is set to welcome back a wholes host of players, to help them on their quest of getting revenge on Royal AM.

Eight players that could come back to boost Chiefs

Amongst those eight being star duo Keagan Dolly as well as Khama Billiat, who have combined very well for Chiefs so far this season. Other players that are set for a potential return to the match day squad are Lebohang Manyama, Kearyn Baccus, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Lazarous Kambole, Sabelo Radebe. Tough tackling midfielder Cole Alexander has also served his suspension and could be set for a return to the starting line up in Durban.
