Limpopo health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba responded to the backlash she received after advising school girls to “open their books and close their legs.”

Dr Phophi Ramathuba was criticised by many after she gave a speech to school children. She told them to “open your books and close your legs”, in an attempt to address teenage pregnancy but people were not impressed.
Media personality Siv Ngesi shared the clip on Instagram and slammed Ramathuba.
“Dr Phophi Ramathuba at a school visit this morning, an entire doctor! What a bloody mess, why didn’t she tell the boys as well to open their books and close their zips!! You’re on your own women/girls,” he captioned the video.
