New ‘Spider-Man’ movie nets box office record in southern Africa

Sony Pictures in southern Africa had its biggest opening weekend with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ raking in a cool R20 million.

Marvel fans came out in their numbers to watch the new Spider-Man: No Way Home movie. The highly anticipated movie has broken box-office records in the US and Africa!

The last Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, was released back in 2019. So, it has been a good few years since avid fans have had something to look forward to.

‘SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME’ BREAKS BOX OFFICE RECORDS

The movie was released last Friday 17 December 2021. Sony Movies SA reported that it had its biggest premiere weekend recorded yet in southern Africa!

Sony raked in R20 million in southern Africa on the premiere evening alone!
