Kaizer Chiefs latest: Finally some GOOD news for the Amakhosi!


There is finally some good news for Kaizer Chiefs fans with reports suggesting that a number of players have returned to the training field!

Kaizer Chiefs could return to the field of play this weekend after missing their previous two league matches due to rising COVID-19 cases at Naturena.

The Glamour Boys reported a total of 31 positive COVID-19 cases and were subsequently unable to take to the field during recent days.

There is however some good news for Kaizer Chiefs fans after it was alleged that a number of their players have returned from quarantine and are back in training!

Finally some good news for Kaizer Chiefs fans!

“They are training. But just a few of the players. We are not sure yet as to when the team will again play. The team just returned back to training on Tuesday,” a source told Kick-off.

“It’s not the entire first-team squad though that has returned, it’s just those Kaizer Chiefs players who are feeling better.

“We are still putting together a team. They are just training now to prepare, but no one knows anything beyond that.”

Amakhosi miss second fixture due to COVID-19

Just days after missing their home DStv Premiership fixture against Cape Town City. Kaizer Chiefs confirmed they will not be making the long journey to Kwa-Zulu Natal to face Golden Arrows on Wednesday night.

“Following further consultations with the medical department and management regarding the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak that occurred at the Kaizer Chiefs Village last week.” a club report read.

“Kaizer Chiefs is unable to travel for the scheduled league match against Lamontville Golden Arrows, scheduled for Wednesday, 8 December at Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.”

The Amakhosi are next due to face Sekhukhune United at the FNB stadium over the weekend however it remains to be seen if they have enough players to take to the field of play.

Kaizer Chiefs sit in fifth position on the DStv Premiership log standings on 22 points and the PSL are yet to confirm whether the two matches they missed will be replayed or be given as walkovers.
