Police Minister Bheki Cele is once again talking tough, particularly against the killing of officers, in the wake of the fatal shooting of a Mpumalanga station commander.
Colonel Beauty Marivate was killed in the line of duty while responding to a supermarket robbery on 30 December 2021. The 55-year-old woman was fatally wounded when an armed gang opened fire on her vehicle when she arrived on the scene. Marivate was a station commander at Elukwatini SAPS and is survived by four children and nine grandchildren.
