Orlando Pirates duo to return to Mayfair next season

Two Orlando Pirates stars look set to return to the club next season, and the Buccaneers are hoping to challenge for all trophies on offer.

Orlando Pirates are set to welcome the return of two key players next season.

According to the latest transfer reports, two players out on loan this season are returning to Mayfair for the 2024/2025 campaign.

Orlando Pirates duo returning home

Midfielder Goodman Mosele, who was sent out on loan to Chippa United, looks set to return to Mayfair next season.

Mosele has been in impressive form for the Chilli Boys this season. The holding midfielder made 25 appearances for the club thus far, scoring one goal.

“This publication has established that Pirates will recall Mosele and want to keep him for the upcoming season, despite his current contract ending in June 2024. The Buccaneers are also expected to hand the midfielder a new contract,” an iDiski Times report read.

Another player who will return to the Buccaneers is rising star Boitumelo Radiopane.

“Boitumelo Radiopane will return to Orlando Pirates at the end of the season when his loan expires at Cape Town Spurs,” veteran agent Mike Makaab told FARPost.

Radiopane spent the season out on loan at Cape Town Spurs. After missing the first half of the campaign due to injury, Radiopane was carefully used by Ernst Middendorp in his quest to save the Cape side from relegation.

Unfortunately for Spurs, they were unable to avoid the dreaded drop and will be competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season, without Radiopane.

Radiopane made eight appearances for Spurs this season. According to the player’s agent, Mike Makaab, the 21-year-old will be returning to Orlando Pirates next season!

Pirates land talented PSL defender

In other news, Orlando Pirates have reportedly secured the services of talented SuperSport United defender Kegan Johannes for next season.

Despite being just 23 years of age, Johannes already has over 70 top-flight appearances to his name. The speedy fullback made a name for himself at Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) before joining SuperSport United in 2021.

According to the latest reports, Jose Riveiro’s side have swooped in to sign the talented defender in a big-money move!

Johannes had recently signed a new contract extension at SuperSport United, meaning Orlando Pirates had to fork out the big bucks for their target. The exact figure remains a mystery for now.

“SuperSport United defender Kegan Johannes is on his way to join Orlando Pirates next season,” a Sportswire report read.

“Pirates are also aiming to strengthen their squad for their upcoming CAF club competition campaign next season. They have already secured qualification through their Nedbank Cup final appearance against Mamelodi Sundowns on 1 June at Mbombela Stadium.

“As Sportswire has been told the deal is done. Johannes would be joining the club he also scored against in a DStv Premiership match at Orlando Stadium in March 2022.”
