Eskom has confirmed that load shedding will remain suspended until further notice. Here is the latest update …

Power utility Eskom confirmed in an X post on Wednesday that load shedding will continue to remain suspended until further notice.

Eskom confirmed that: “Load shedding will remain suspended until further notice, following non-implementation for over a week.

“This is a result of sustained available generation capacity, adequate emergency reserves, and anticipated moderate demand for the week ahead.

“A total of 2 365MW is planned to be returned to service by Friday evening, while continuing with planned maintenance to ensure improved reliability of our fleet.

“The evening peak demand tonight is expected to reach 27 613MW.”

Eskom pleaded with the public to switch off non-essential appliances to reduce the demand, especially between 17:00 and 21:00.

The South African website will keep the public abreast of the latest developments when changes occur.
