President Donald Trump on Wednesday withdrew ⁠a threat to impose tariffs on eight European nations for ‍their opposition to his ambitions for US ownership of Greenland, saying he had reached the outlines of a deal with NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte on the Danish autonomous territory’s future. He did not give any details of what he described as “the framework of a future deal”.
