Last weekend, it was my turn to host dinner for my son's volleyball team. I decided to set up a taco bar, but I also needed some munchies for 12 teenage boys and their parents, so I headed straight to ALDI.

Besides stocking up on salsa and chips, I found two new seasonal dips: Park Street Deli limited edition Truffle Dip and Roasted Red Pepper Goat Cheese Dip.

What I Love About Park Street Deli’s New Dips

The new truffle dip comes in an eight-ounce container, and the new roasted red pepper goat cheese dip is seven ounces, and they cost just $2.99 each.

They’re absolutely perfect for entertaining! The truffle dip smells deeply of truffles, and the roasted red pepper dip sings with the sweetness of summer peppers.

Both of the dips boast a cream cheese base with a mousse-like texture from being whipped, meaning they’re creamy yet fluffy. The truffle dip is full of umami, with little flecks of black truffle. If you like truffles or mushrooms, then this elegant dip will be your jam. It tastes really good with salt and vinegar potato chips.

The roasted red pepper dip has both puréed peppers and chunks of red peppers, which give it a natural sweetness with just a touch of goat cheese flavor on the finish. If you like hummus blended with red peppers, you’ll love this dip too. If you enjoy goat cheese you will like this dip, but it’s not extremely goaty, and if you aren’t really fond of goat cheese, I doubt you’ll even notice its subdued flavor. Sweet potato chips make a perfect pairing with this dip.

How I Serve ALDI's New Park Street Deli Dips

Both of these dips taste great with pita chips, tortilla chips, and cut-up raw vegetables, but they’re also great spreads for sandwiches. The roasted red pepper dip goes really well with chicken or veggies, especially on a wrap, and it would be perfect for stuffing little tomatoes or small sweet peppers.

I want to stir the truffle dip into mashed potatoes or baked potatoes instead of sour cream, and I think it would be a great addition to steak sandwiches.

These dips are so fun and flavorful that I hope ALDI brings them back for the holidays, as they’re made for entertaining. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy them on game days, including volleyball.
