PSL 7 | PCB & franchises sign agreement to add additional players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises are seen signing an agreement. The agreement states that all the teams are allowed to pick two additional players in the Supplementary Category. This decision is for the seventh edition of the mega event has been made due to the ongoing situation is due to COVID-19 repeated outbreaks. The team can induct one domestic and one foreign player. However, it can not induct 2 more foreign players. All the fans are totally excited about the upcoming mega-event. It is likely to begin soon. No doubt, it is one of the most eagerly awaited tournaments held in Pakistan.

“Separately, this will also provide extra players to the teams, should they require for reasons beyond their control,” the PCB said.

The additional players will be chosen in the Replacement Player Draft. The meeting will most likely be held through a virtual session on 7 January 2022.

After a random draw, it has been stated that Karachi Kings will make the first pick from the additional players, followed by Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar.  The second pick will be done by following a reverse order format as Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, and Karachi Kings.
