Babar Azam Surpasses Kohli in T20I Runs

In his first World Cup match against the US, which is being played at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, Pakistan captain Babar Azam hit 44 runs off 43 balls, becoming him the greatest run scorer in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) with 4,067 runs, surpassing India’s Virat Kohli with 4,038 runs. The 29-year-old surpassed 4,038-run leader Kohli. Babar’s debut World Cup performance saw him score 44 runs off 43 balls. Babar ranked third on the all-time list with 4,023 runs at the beginning of this game. In this style, he has 36 fifties and three centuries to his credit.

Pakistan, however, gave the United States (USA) a target of 160 runs. With the ball, the USA got off to a fantastic start as their bowlers sent. But captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan batted well and brought the struggling Pakistani team back into the match after losing three wickets.

Pakistan regained their lead thanks to a 72-run partnership between Babar and Shadab, although Shadab left the field after scoring 40 runs off of 25 balls. The wickets kept falling after wicketkeeper batsman Azam Khan was dismissed for a golden duck shortly after Shadab was removed from the game.

Out of 43, Babar Azam got 44. Iftikhar Ahmed finished with eighteen runs. With 23 runs off of 16 balls, Shaheen Afridi gave Pakistan a much-needed boost down the order, helping them finish their innings at 159-7 in the allotted overs.
