The Pakistan Cricket Board is hiring Tony Hemming as chief curator for two years. Wednesday will bring the Western Australian to Lahore to start his job. Hemming must prepare pitches for the five ICC World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh (two in August/September) and England (three in October).

For the February 19–March 9 ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, he will oversee pitch preparations. Additionally, he is a respected curator with nearly four decades of experience. He worked at historic cricket venues in Melbourne, Perth, Tasmania, Bangladesh, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, where he was the ICC’s Head Curator from 2007 to 2017.

His ICC duties included pitch preparation at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan’s home site from 2009 to 2019. Hemming succeeded Zahid, who joined the Chairman PCB Curators Committee in 2001. Zahid became Chief Curator in 2004. He resigned in 2020 but was reappointed by former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja in 2021.
