Vehicle marketplace, WeBuyCars says it has opened the doors of the WeBuyCars Dome, its new super-showroom capable of accommodating more than 1,000 vehicles.

The group purchased the Ticketpro Dome from the Sanlam Pension Fund in July, with chief executive Faan van der Walt pledging to develop the space, turning it into one of the biggest second-hand car dealerships in the world.

Currently, WeBuyCars sells more than 9,000 vehicles a month, with the group aiming to sell at least 10,000 vehicles monthly as it expands its showroom space.

“This is a hugely exciting chapter for WeBuyCars, and we will mark this milestone site with a grand opening on 23 of March 2022, which will be an event celebrating the WeBuyCars Dome’s opening, said van der Walt on Tuesday (14 December).

“For now, a soft opening makes more sense considering the current state of Covid-19 cases in the country, specifically within Gauteng. Fortunately, we are already trading, and our doors are open with only a few finishing touches and minor renovations to be completed. By Friday, 17 of December, we will be fully operational.”

He said that as the WeBuyCars Dome will officially be the largest used vehicle showroom in Africa, prospective customers can expect a full range of services and some impressive add-ons at the company’s newest branch, including the buying of used vehicles, the selling of used vehicles, online vehicle auctions, in-house financing, insurance solutions and more.

Additionally, the showroom will trade seven days a week, and will house a kids play area and a newly built WeCafé.
