Magoba is the Manager of the CSIR Water Centre and boasts over 20 years of experience in water research.

Before joining the CSIR, he worked as a Freshwater Ecologist for Southern Waters Ecological Research and Consulting, and as the Head of Research and Development for the City of Cape Town.

In his current position, Magoba champions the development of fit-for-purpose technologies and solutions to address South Africa’s biggest water challenges.

Magoba holds an Honours degree in Biological Science from the University of Venda for Science and Technology, a Masters degree in Ecological Assessment from Stellenbosch University, and a PhD in Agricultural Entomology from Stellenbosch University.
