Myanmar opens final round of controversial election

Myanmar began the final phase of its month-long election on Sunday, just a week short of the fifth anniversary of the military coup, with the dominant pro-military party heading toward what appears to be a landslide victory in a junta-run vote, one that critics argue will only serve to entrench the army’s hold on power.
