Last week, a colleague shared these wire storage baskets from the Dollar Tree with me, and I was instantly intrigued. I'm perpetually looking for cute ways to organize my fridge and pantry, so this recommendation nailed it.

At just $1.25, I picked up a few and have already found many ways to put them to work. These sleek wire storage baskets are the latest and greatest of Dollar Tree's kitchen organization gems.

Why I Love These Dollar Tree Baskets

First, these oval-shaped wire baskets are surprisingly sturdy. Measuring about seven inches wide, they're made of coated wire that's substantial enough to hold everything from heavy condiment bottles to a week's worth of yogurt cups. The white (or black) open-wire design allows me to see what's inside, which means no more forgotten foods turning into science experiments in my fridge. They're also perfectly sized to fit most standard refrigerator shelves while leaving room for taller items. Plus, they stack well when empty, so storage is a breeze.

How I Use the Dollar Tree Wire Baskets

I've already found many practical uses for them throughout my home. Here are a few of my favorite ways to use them.

In the Fridge: This year, I started preparing snack packs for my kids to grab when we are running errands, heading to sports practices, or packing lunches. I put two baskets in my fridge to help organize these snacks, which include things like small reusable containers and zip-top bags of cut-up carrots and cucumber, bell pepper slices, snap peas, hard-boiled eggs, cheese cubes, yogurt drinks, sliced oranges, apples, and Asian pears.

My kids now know exactly where to look for their snacks, and I can see when we're running low on items. I can also see myself using them to store eggs and citrus. I saw a comment on the Dollar Tree site that someone uses them to store fresh eggs for "a cute farmhouse feel." I love that idea for eggs, limes, and lemons, which I always have a lot of in my fridge.

In the Pantry: These baskets have revamped my pantry organization, too. I use them to group similar items together. For example, I have one for baking supplies like sprinkles, nonpareil, food coloring, and muffin liners, another for spice packets, taco seasonings, and sauce mixes, and one dedicated to holding garlic and onions.

In the Kitchen: Beyond storage, these baskets make excellent caddies for holding or displaying commonly used items for my family and when entertaining. For example, they'll be a wonderful vessel for holding utensils and napkins at our kids' holiday table. Additionally, I could fill one with festive activity packs to keep the kids entertained (code for "in their seats") and another with seasonal decor like mini pumpkins, pinecones, or flowers for a rustic, budget-friendly table display.

Our kids also do a lot of activities at our dining room table, so I'm considering keeping one in easy reach to hold things like crayons, markers, and small craft supplies. At $1.25 each, they're an absolute steal for anyone looking to bring order to their chaos. And they're cute, to boot! So, if you’re looking for my take, head to the Dollar Tree while they’re still there.
