Frozen Waffles Sold at Target, ALDI, and Walmart Recalled Due to Possible Listeria

On October 18, TreeHouse Foods, Inc. voluntarily recalled frozen waffle products due to potential Listeria contamination. The issue was discovered during routine testing at the company's manufacturing facility.

The recalled products were distributed and sold in the United States and Canada under various brand names, which are listed below:

  • Best Choice
  • Breakfast Best sold at ALDI
  • Clover Valley sold at Dollar General
  • Food Lion
  • Foodhold
  • Giant Eagle
  • Good & Gather sold at Target
  • Great Value sold at Walmart
  • Hannaford
  • Harris Teeter
  • H-E-B
  • Kodiak Cakes
  • PICS sold at Price Chopper
  • Publix
  • Schnucks
  • Simple Truth
  • Southeastern Grocers
  • Tops

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) released a report that list the recalled product names, description, UPC, Lot code, and Best-By Date. You can also see photos of the recalled products here.

According to the FDA, Listeria is a bacteria that can cause serious harm or may be fatal to young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. It can also cause miscarriage and stillbirths. No illnesses related to the recall have been reported.

What To Do If You Have the Recalled Products at Home 

If you recently purchased frozen waffles, check your freezer for any of the recalled products and discard or return them to the store where you purchased them. If you have any questions, contact the company at (800) 596-2903 on Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.
