ALDI's New $29.99 Kitchen Find Is Life-Changing—I Wish I Had Bought It Sooner
This awesome ALDI find is a super affordable copycat of Our Place's "Perfect Pot." It's large size makes it a kitchen workhorse.
Everything is awesome! I’m not quoting the theme song from The Lego Movie randomly. Everything really is awesome about ALDI’s Awesome Pot. It's a new kitchen item that hit store shelves, and I'm so glad I bought one because I plan to use it all the time.
What I Love About ALDI’s Awesome Pot
The Awesome Pot is not only oven-safe to 450°F but also works on electric, glass ceramic, gas, halogen, and induction stovetops. It has a nonstick ceramic coating and is excellent for baking, boiling, frying, roasting, you name it.
The pot has a 6.5-quart capacity and comes in green and black. The Awesome Pot's size makes it perfect for boiling water for pasta, but it’s also great for braising stew meat, caramelizing onions, and, well, anything you’d use a pot for. It’s gorgeous, too.
It’s the ALDI version of the Our Place Perfect Pot, but while the Perfect Pot costs $165, the Awesome Pot only costs $29.99.
It’s easy to clean, but because it has a nonstick ceramic interior, I don’t use my heavy scrubby brushes on it. If something gets stuck, I use a paste of baking soda and dish detergent to get the gunk off without scratching the inside.
How I'm Using ALDI's Awesome Pot
So far, I’ve used the pot to make pasta—it heats up evenly and quite fast on my induction stovetop. That meant I could get dinner on the table fast on a busy weeknight.
I know that my Awesome Pot will help me make turkey stock in a few weeks after Thanksgiving dinner, and I'll use it for my Aunt Judy’s mashed potato recipe.
I plan to make my former neighbor's pasta sauce in the Awesome Pot. I will also use it for my husband’s favorite sauce of all time, amatriciana.
Since the pot's handles get hot when cooking, I will use the silicone handles I got for my Le Creuset Dutch oven if I need to move it. My Awesome Pot is actually a bit easier to use than the Le Creuset because it isn’t as heavy, but it gets a heavy workout in my kitchen.
